Project Description

Florence and Chianti/Certaldo/Truffle Hunt

Duration 6 to 8 hours

This tour can combine two elements making it a magnificent experience aimed at making the most that Florence and Tuscany can give. In fact it will be possible to visit the centre of Florence with an light walking tour, seeing its most important sites such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Market of San Lorenzo, the civic centre of Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti, walking down old streets and alleys.
In the second part of the tour I will take you to visit one of the many wine cellars of the nearby “Chianti”, a region just south of Florence that gives its name to one of the most famous wines of our country. We will see a typical wine cellar and taste its wine accompanied by a typical Tuscan lunch. Afterwards we will admire the landscapes and visit one of the many medieval villages followed by an interesting visit to a local butcher’s shop to get an overview of the products of this region.
If you have already discovered the Chianti region I would suggest a visit to Certaldo, a town full of history and the birth place of the great Italian writer Boccaccio. We will discover the tomb of this revered writer. You will also visit a surprising city museum famous for a beautiful crucifix of the twelfth century as well as learn the history of the Blessed Julia.

Alternatively it’s possible to change and add the Truffle Hunt experience and then eat a truffle-based fabulous lunch!
